As I was outlining my 2019 goals, I could feel part of me start to shrink back.
There was a piece of me that said “you can’t do that.’ And I almost started to believe that I could.
But it was different than how I used to think about “you can’t do that.”
Instead of not just believing that I could do that. I looked at my current habits and realized that “you can’t do that” if you keep doing things like you’re currently doing them.
In some ways – that’s worse.
Cause there’s an element of reality involved in it.
And I was right in a way.
If I wanted to keep doing things in the same way I have been – I couldn’t just keep going about business as usual.
But instead of just giving up – I had another thought.
You have to be better.
Sometimes it’s not a trick. It’s not a tactic. Not a strategy.
Sometimes it’s a decision.
To be better.
To accept less excuses. To raise your standards. To stop accepting “who you are” as “who you will be.”
A decision to be better.
To do what needs to be done, you have to be better.
So go be it.
