Cold shower therapy is the best way to get over your fear of action in a real, visceral way.
About 3 years ago, we released our first app ever.
It was ugly, primitive and very basic.
But it also got us started for the first time, got us in the Apple store and developing apps.
Over the past couple years, we’ve moved on to bigger and better apps, building a Top 20 iTunes health & fitness app and an awesome mobility focused app.
But the old CST app sat in the App Store, never updated and partially broken.
And I hate leaving things unfinished…
So a couple months ago, I decided to go back and rebuild it from scratch.
It’s taken a little longer than I would have liked, but it’s finally here.
Cold Shower Therapy – The App: The best way to break out of your comfort zone.
Table of Contents
If you’re not familiar with Cold Shower Therapy (have you been living under a rock?), the idea is simple.
Take a cold shower every day for 30 days and get used to (really used to) being comfortable with the uncomfortable.
Why?
If you can’t do something uncomfortable and difficult for 5 minutes in the shower, how the hell are you going to do something uncomfortable or difficult in real life?

If you need to find out more about Cold Shower Therapy, I’ve got all of your resources for that right here.
Now on to the app.
Here’s what it looks like:

Track Your Progress

Keep A Streak Going

If you used the app in the past, there’s not a ton of new functionality, but it should be A LOT easier to use. If you haven’t used it before, what are you waiting for? Get it at the link below.
Where To Get CST The App
=> You can pick up Cold Shower Therapy The App in the App Store right here. If you like it – please leave a review (it helps us a ton!).
=> For those of you on Android, I’m working on it (I promise). It’s always easier to get the kinks out on iOS, so be patient with me and trust that we’re working on it.
=> If you’re wondering why we develop for iOS first, here’s my reasoning.
One of my primary goals at Impossible is to take away EVERY EXCUSE YOU HAVE for not pushing your limits and being your best self while telling a great story. Building tools that help you IMPLEMENT the things that most people only TALK about is 1 small way we do that.
Oh, and this app is another great case of starting small to build something big. Over the last 3 years, we started small, but have been getting better at building apps. Check out our whole list of them below (with more on the way soon):
But don’t just stand there. Take a cold shower and go do something impossible.

Are you ever going to have an Android app?

The first time I opened the updated app it asked for my password, which of course I had forgotten. The “Forgot password?” text doesn’t seem to have any link associated with it. Can the password be recovered or would I have to set up a new account?

The new app has a bug, something happened to the calendar on 8/29/2015, almost everyone lost their current streak numbers and they went back to zero and have to start all over. The app did not calculate the shower that was taken on August 29 and therefore the current streak numbers are all wrong.
Joel Runyon says
Hey Don,
We’re aware of this and working on a fix. It’s coming soon! Stay tuned.

I’ve done this twice now and have come to a realization. Cold showers put me right in the present moment compared to hot showers where I spend my time making life plans and shit.
I’ll miss my positive thinking and coming out feeling great. Yes I eventually felt good after putting my clothes on after a cold shower, but it wasn’t quiet as pleasurable and saw little benefits. I also slept in an hour this morning because I couldn’t bear the thought of a cold shower at that moment. I’m only 2 days in though so that could be it.
I’ll do the full week regardless..and might punish myself to a second week. Depends how I’m feeling after the first week
