Today, I want to introduce you to the first training program that I’ve released in 5 years.
It’s a 6 week fitness bootcamp designed to kick your butt, get you out of your head and into your body and restart your 2018 – so you don’t just keep on drifting through the year.
It’s not exclusive, but it is selective.
The best part is that people select themselves.
And with that – here’s the thing I want to get to today:
People think inclusive means that you have to accommodate everyone. You have to lower the bar to make it easier for everyone.
- Don’t do squats because they’re intimidating.
- Don’t try that business idea because you don’t know how it’s going to play out.
- Don’t get on that plane and go on a trip because you don’t know all the details yet.
- Don’t talk about your big ideas because it will make your friends resent you (ouch).
But the problem with this is that it doesn’t make anyone better.
It might make everybody feel comfortable (for now), but it doesn’t make anyone stronger, faster or better.
It makes things feel more “safe” (maybe) in the short term but doesn’t train you to grow, become more resilient or prepare you to push your limits.
Before someone goes – “hey, you know – there’s nothing wrong with being prepared” – this has nothing to do with about being prepared. It has everything to do with people trying to nerf the world to delude themselves in comfort instead of molding yourself to become someone that not only thrives in the discomfort, but bends the world to your will (this is a fitness program, but if you haven’t picked up by now – this is about more than fitness).
To be clear: This is not in praise of being reckless.
You should be prepared.
I’m down with preparation.
But there comes a time when you’ve dotted your Is and crossed your Ts and there’s nothing left to do other than to get some guts and do the damn thing.
People act like they need to have a grand unifying theory of everything planned out fo rtes next 5 years to take the next step.
Most people don’t need more planning. They need a bias for action.
They need way more doing.
The best part about this?
Anyone can do it.
It’s there for anyone willing to raise your hand and step forward in the face of uncertainty and do it.
But not everyone will.
So that’s why this is selective.
A lesson I learned a long time ago was this:
Never be more invested in someone else’s goal than they are.
They have to want it.
If they don’t want it – bad – then they probably won’t get it.
You have to want it.
So I don’t chase people that aren’t interested.
But for those who are up for the challenge.
Welcome aboard.
If you’re looking to jump start your 2018 from a dead stop, wake up your body and fix your head – so you can start doing the IMPOSSIBLE in 2018 – I’d love to see you take the challenge.
Is that you?
If you have any questions, feel free to reply here. I read every single one.
See you on the inside.
Keep Pushing.
Joel
