Welcome Get Rich Slowly Readers!
For my regular readers that don’t know, JD Roth, generously allowed me a guest post titled “Learning To Read The Fine Print” on his amazing personal finance blog: Get Rich Slowly and I owe him a HUGE thank you. Get Rich Slowly was one of the first blogs I ever read when I got into the blogging world and I finally had the opportunity to meet JD last month at the Chicago Blogger Meetup. It really is amazing of him to let me do a guest blog so early on in my blogging career [Blog Of Impossible Things has only been “officially launched” for less than a month!]. So thanks JD for everything and being patient with me. I appreciate it a lot.
Now, if you’re still reading =)
The short version:
This blog is a medium to document my journey to do impossible things and encourage others to do the same. What do I mean by impossible things? In my life, I’ve pre-disqualified myself from doing a lot of things just because I “thought” I wouldn’t be good at them. I “thought” that they weren’t going to be fun or I “thought” that they were simply too hard, that they were impossible. I got sick of living that way and not doing things simply because I “thought” they were impossible. I want to see if they actually were or not. I wanted to see what I can actually do when I push myself to the limits. So I’ve got a list of impossible things that I’ve always wanted to do and I’m going to try and do them 1 by 1 and along the way I want to inspire YOU to go out and try something that previously you thought was impossible. So that’s the short version, if you want the long version, check the about me page.
The first on my list is training for the Chicago Triathlon. I’ve been involved with athletics, but I’ve never been much of a runner…or biker…or swimmer for that matter so this is a whole new arena for me. I’m holding myself accountable my readers here. You can check my training log to make sure I’m on track.
As for the writing, while this is a fairly new blog, you can see some of my more popular posts below:
- Experiences > Things
- 28 Seconds And The Difference Between A 10 Minute Mile & A Ten Minute Mile
- My First Spinning Class, Khaki Shorts, & Miley Cyrus
I’ve also had my writing [mostly travel related] featured around the web. You can see my guest posts here.
If you’d like to say hi, introduce yourself or just send me hate mail, you can do so via sending me an email, giving me a shout on twitter, adding me on facebook or you can do all 3! [Unless you’re sending hate mail. If that’s the case then one method will do just fine].
You can get free updates via RSS or just have them delivered to your email if that’s your thing. [I promise I won’t spam you]
Thanks for coming and checking things out. Stick around. I got a lot of good stuff in the works for you.
Joel Runyon
