I recently shared a few tools on twitter that I really enjoyed finding and using in 2017. People seemed to enjoy it, so I thought I’d expand on it a little here.

Banking
I started using Simple about a month ago and it’s the first tool in a long time that I spontaneously rave about to friends.
As a solo business owner, it’s easy for me to focus on the business finances, but easy to neglect my own personal finances.
By creating a separate bank account with a separate bank that I only use personally, it makes it super easy to get this into shape and focus on improving it.
=> Simple
Podcasting
I brought the podcast back (are you subscribed yet?) and Art19 is the reason why.
Art19 made it fun to podcast again. Super easy interface, built for 2018 plus awesome stats and data about who’s actually listening tot your podcast.
Plus, the player looks nice when it’s embedded on your site and it just makes me want to podcast more.
=> Art19
Interviews
Skype has been the mainstay for online interviews, but it’s not that good (and if you’ve listened to a Skype interview, you know why).
Zencastr is so much better. Zencastr records your audio in your browser and the interviewees’s audio in their browser so you get sound that sounds like you’e in person.
=> Zencastr
Courses
Typically, I like to run most things on WordPress, but all the “course” software that runs on wordpress is terrible.
So, I finally caved and went with Teachable. It was so easy, that I moved the Authority Ecosystems course over to it and moved all of our paleo nutrition courses to it as well. Great tool.
=> Teachable
Brave
No ads. No popups. And blazing fast.
Brave is the best new browser. Some sites don’t support it, but it’s the best new browser out there.
=> Brave
Gemini
Most people would put Coinbase here, but they’re really questionable both in how they’ve rolled out certain coins and with fees and delays when it actually comes to purchasing things.
If you need a good US-based exchange, Gemini.com is pretty solid. Really impressed.
=> Gemini
p.s.+1 for the Winklevoss twins not getting bitter after the FB lawsuit and building something awesome.
Insert general disclaimer here on how you should still be storing your crypto offline.
Carrd.co
I have a very in-depth tutorial on blogging here, but if you want to get started with a website with nothing crazy at all – use carrd.co.
You can get a site up & running in less than time than it takes to put together one good powerpoint slide.
=> Carrdo.co

That’s the list!
To all the builders and creators out there – thanks for building great tools! See you next year!
