Good morning from Cape Town!
On Sunday I ran the Comrades Marathon – a 56 miles (89 kilometers) ultra marathon.
“Ouch” is the main word that comes to mind post-race.
Nevertheless I’ve finished and I’m quite happy about it.
I’m currently working on getting my legs back at the moment, and while I don’t feel exactly “good”, I feel better than I anticipated (which is a nice surprise).
I’ll have a full race writeup and a mini-podcast out on this out tomorrow – but for now I’m going to put my feet up and enjoy not moving for a little bit.

Ouch indeed. It almost sounds… Impossible, this just goes to show that the word does not exist in your vocabulary, truly an impressive feat Joel.
Have a good one

Hi Joel. Congrats on finishing the comrades! How do our Cape Town cold showers rate in your experience?
Joel Runyon says
Colder than anticipated – although I preferred the cold ocean experience a bit more 🙂

You can cross “visit the Africa continent” off of your Impossible list now. Shout out from Port Elizabeth (South Africa). Hope to have you here for the Iron Man next year.
