The Longest Night was sponsored by LMNT electrolytes – the best sugar free hydration mix.
The Longest Night Race 2020. The longest night of the year on the longest year on record.
While the all night component made it tougher for people to join up wherever they were in the world, we had a few runners race remotely and 2 of my friends – Eric Anderson of Ocean Lab & Peter Keller at Fringe Sport decided to join me in Austin.
14 hours. 1 track. As many laps as possible.
The Longest Night Race 2020 – Video Recap
Race recaps can be written, but the best way to experience is to be out there yourself. No one can tell you what it’s like to be running in circles in the pitch black at 3am in the dead of winter, 10 hours after you started – with hours still left to go.
It’s easier to show than tell, so here’s a little peak at what that looked like this year.
Running All Night Long On the Winter Solstice
It’s always better to experience this first hand, so if you’re experiencing any sort of FOMO, make sure you’re at the next event.

Congrats to everyone who finished and sent in their times. Next year – hopefully post-pandemic – we can get everyone together in one place and make this massive.
If you missed the first longest day race, watch that video recap here and start training.
